I had seen mention that AP replaced msrp information with price on request. A visit to the website confirms this. Do other countries also show this? I’m a little confused 😕 as I kinda want to know the retail, even if there’s nowhere to buy in Canada 🥲 Any...

I see it many times at many brands. I guess it give the brands more freedom to anticipate what the market will do. For example a F.P Journe Elegante quartz. A few years ago the watch was around Today E47000. No wonder they want to hide prices.

Even Rolex has shown price on request for some pieces. However, I just can’t conceive Rolex not divulging publicly the price of a steel GMT or Sub.

If I am not mistaken, the average Swiss watch company has had three or more price increases this year alone.

Right. I see the phenomenon when, let’s say the price goes above a 20K.

So it is a traders ask.

It could be a good thing. Someone no knowing the brand will get the sticker shock, lol…

AP is announcing or will announce a new sales strategy that "authorized retail dealers are free to set the resale price for their consumer". If I interpret correctly, the AD's can then set at whatever market price grey dealers are setting it for each part... 

but cite no evidence 🤷‍♂️As fun as it is to speculate and then extrapolate upon extrapolation 😂 perhaps waiting for official policy before writing a brand off is the fairer and wiser approach 🤔

I did say that I read on social media, which of course should be taken with a grain of salt. My thought process and feelings were based on if what I read was true. In any case, the place where I read it recanted what they said. Apparently it has to do wit...

MSRP has become market price aka being able to squeeze more economic rent from the customer.

AP, Patek and these other massive brands are just that. Massive brands trying to squeeze every drop out of customers. I don’t blame them at all.
