[Re]Mastered AP Chronograph

 By: Gus7 : March 27th, 2020-07:30
I know there is another thread on this watch but I thought I would start a new thread with Live Photo’s from tonight. I got to try it at the AP House here in HK and having admired this particular 1940s reference from the book on complicated watches for a ...

Congratulations! You are very fast. Im glad to hear how much you liked it.

 By: Reuven Malter : March 27th, 2020-07:47
Enjoy your new watch in great health. It is really special indeed.

Thank you!

So fast I even got the name wrong! It is the [Re]Master01 Chronograph.

It looks very convincing with realistic pictures

 By: VinnieD : March 27th, 2020-08:02
Well done, this is a creative reference

Your last picture is saying all: a very beautiful watch with substance

I think the solid thickness of this watch makes a manual movement obsolete. My only "complaint" is its price, but that is only my subjective view. Congrats to this very interesting piece that you know how to waer: very cool combination!

Thank you

 By: Gus7 : March 27th, 2020-08:32
Yes the price is perhaps a bit steep but I could just about sell my FPJ CB three hander and get this. Everything is relative! One more pic for tonight... ...

Spectacular!

By: COUNT DE MONET : March 27th, 2020-10:48
I restrained from using the wording "relative", but you are seeing it the same .

Indeed! [nt]

 By: Gus7 : March 28th, 2020-00:55

That looks really great 👍

 By: ChristianDK : March 27th, 2020-08:40
Much better than the official pictures. In fact, very tempting! Huge congratulations and enjoy your weekend!

cheers! [nt]

Thanks for great wrist shots...

 By: edo.k : March 27th, 2020-09:10
For better understanding of fit what is your wrist size?

thanks. About 17.25

 By: Gus7 : March 28th, 2020-00:56
I will post a picture of it beside my AP s/s Perpetual for comparison.

Gorgeous! Thank you for posting it!

 By: MichaelC : March 27th, 2020-09:11
We can never have too many threads on a new AP

Congrats. You must be the first owner of this model.

Two questions/requests? 1. What’s your wrist size? 2. Can you send a photo of the caseback? Enjoy it in good health and, I agree with you that the price is relative: Is a ceramic daytona really worth half this watch? Is a stainless 5711 really worth with ...

i think I may well be. But whether first or the 500 it is just as significant to me!

 By: Gus7 : March 28th, 2020-00:58
wrist size is around 17.25. I shall post some better photos next week once I can take with my Leica rather than the iPhone.

Thanks! [nt]

Great pictures...

and what a watch! The dial is absolutely marvelous. I love champagne, both on glasses and dials 🥂.

Interesting point

 By: Gus7 : March 28th, 2020-01:00
This piece is obviously a completely new case and is intended to mark the opening of the new museum which, due to the awful situation we are now in with CV19, I suspect may be put back however it is a very special release for AP this year. I hope that the...

Congrats Gus it’s really beautiful and like the guys said

Your pics are much better than the press release pics Enjoy in the best of health

Great pix...much more realistic than the official ones...

 By: mdg : March 27th, 2020-11:20
My only concern would be the thickness...it seems a tad bit 'top-heavy' if that makes sense. Thanks for the review.

I understand that concern and at around 14mm it is large but somehow I feel it just works.

 By: Gus7 : March 28th, 2020-01:01
I can see this as casual more than with a suit but no doubt I shall try with both!

Perhaps a manual-wind version in the future...

 By: mdg : March 28th, 2020-10:33
...would slim it down to 12mm or so. That would be just about right.

Congrats. I do like this watch (from the pics for now)

I hope to see it in person in the near future

For give these rather rough photos. I will do another set with a good camera this week coming. ...

This looks much better in your photos!

A welcome shift by AP to a more retro vintage look. Thanks for sharing these wonderful photos! Now I am intrigued! Peter

Congratulations

I love it. I will decide by the end of the weekend if I should pull the plug or not. I would do this in a heartbeat if it was not for current economic issues with the economy...

very nice watch, huge congrats!

 By: Peter : April 4th, 2020-12:49
i have two issues with it though: why is it s thick? also, legibility seems bad with low contrast of hands/dial.
