An answer to a question nobody was asking...

The idea behind this watch was great, making it the THINNEST perpetual on the market today, but why? Why did it have to be the thinnest? Why did they need to stretch the case to 41mm? Why couldn't they have just slimmed the case down to the size of the 15202 instead? I would have much rather seen them shrink the case size to 39mm or 40mm and the case to 8mm (Just a tad slimmer than the 5740G and 15202) with the elimination of the week counter and a similar dial layout to the current 26574... I do think the non tappiserie dial was a great choice contrary to what everyone else seems to think but all in all the dial layout just seems sporadic. The 41mm case size paired with the ultra slim case just makes for very odd proportions on this watch unfortunately. All that being said, I will reserve my judgement until I see one in the metal (hopefully) as always.

Serious executive decision making on the dial for what is likely going to be a better watch in the metal.
Total nonsense marketing

It makes no difference to legibility. The tapisserie is only on negative space. More likely they ran into clearance tolerance issues in the total stack height in production and use this as the excuse. Rapwatch
Not bad...will be excited to see this one. BUT...

...would prefer to see the leap year indicator move in a clock-wise direction. Which leads me to wonder, does the day/night indicator move clock-wise? If not, it’s a bit of a blunder.
An obvious cop out

The original quantime perpetual calendar had no issues applying tapisserire dial with so called legibility issues

I have to say...

...I prefer the waffle dial more so. It has more glimmer and beautiful to stare at than a flat dial.
