Works of Art from Lange and Namiki
Edwin's spectacular photos of Namiki fountain pens inspired me to try my hand at capturing the beauty of some of the pens in own collection. The watches of course need no introduction for folks in this forum. The pen paired with my RG Dato is the Namiki Chinkin Owl. The chinkin technique involves carving a very fine design into the lacquer and then laying in gold powder which is then secured with further coatings of lacquer. Paired with the PT 1815 Moon in the other photo is a Namiki Nightline which illustrates the Raden technique of lacquer art in which thin sections of mother of pearl are inlaid in the lacquer.
