6" wrist (same as yours) and platinum ZW Striking Time (larger and heavier than a standard ZW) here.
I wear it on a custom short-length strap with the detachable (quick-release) Lange deployant buckle that's typically found on the Lange 31 and certain other models.
Is this configuration comfortable? Yes, absolutely! The key with all watches on deployants is centering the buckle on the underside of the wrist, which requires the correct (often custom) strap length.
Is it unbalanced or too heavy? Nope. I definitely notice the watch for the first few minutes after I put in on, but not in a bad or annoying way. What's key is that I don't want to take it off 8 hours into the day. That would be really irritating, and it's not the case with the Zeitwerk. I've had that happen with other (much lighter, smaller) watches because the deployant is off-center and starts to bother me after several hours. Also, slightly stiffer, thicker straps work well on bigger, heavier watches like the ZW. And I'd go with the regular single-fold Lange deployant -- definitely not the butterfly, which is far too small and delicate looking for the Zeitwerk. I dislike tang buckles in general, on any watch, so I can't speak to those on a ZW. [The quick-release deployant that I use would be overkill for most people, so I wouldn't endorse it as a first choice for others.]
Does it look ridiculously huge on my wrist to others? Absolutely -- it looks absurd! "That watch is WAY too big for you." If you care at all what other people think about whether a watch looks good on you, then the ZW would be too big, I'd say.
Do I love it? Totally! I love this watch! It's also one of my favorite watches to wind every morning. The ZW winding is stiff and distinctive, which makes the winding ritual that much more enjoyable. You can feel every click of the ratchet, unlike the usual smoother, less resistant Lange winding mechanisms.
Sorry to arrive late to the party with a different perspective -- but I wouldn't give up on the ZW if it interests you!
