I had the chrono and I traded it for the Saxonia Calendar

Chrono is a great watch from in a lot of respects. Namely, the case back view is incredible. Further, I bought it because it had the same case back view as the Datograph--but is thinner and I thought for that reason it would be more wearable.
However, the problem I had with the watch was a personal one I suppose. Namely, that I still found it a little large to wear. I think the fact that it was RG also made it look more noticeable on my wrist. Also, I found without the big date for balance, the sub-dials just seemed a little too low for my taste.
I don't think you can go wrong with either watch--but for me it is the Saxonia Calendar. Just like the I believe the Saxonia Calendar is the best annual calenar (or one of them) on the market. I think the 1815 Chronograph is probably pound for pound the best when it comes to a chronograph caseback view.

Which one would you add next?

Hi, I recently got a Lange 1 in rose gold and absolutely love it. At some point in future, I plan to add the 1815 chrono (WG with black dial or RG with white dial). However, the chrono purchase is few years away. If you were in position and your budget wa...

Great recommendation

Ha, I also recently got the CB. I have since fallen in love with Journe too but their other 40 mm watches feel a tad big for my 6.5 inch wrist. Wish Journe still made 38 mm CS or Octa. However, I am also looking at the CS and Octa auto reserve and Octa au...

Fantastic Watch

Great watch that is bound to be unlike what most have in their collection because of the tantalum case and fantastic "alive" blue dial.

Lange 1 is a good one...

But 1815 Chrono black dial resonates more with me, even though I’m not much of a Chrono fan. If you want to surely buy something in between before the Chrono, I’ll go for a Saxonia Thin - with the remaining I’ll go quick to the 1815 Chrono ! 1815 micro-se...

Thanks

I like the Saxonia auto in blue dial (WG). Also, the 1815 timeonly in WG is an attractive watch and different enough to exist along with the Lange 1 and 1815 chrono.

the bright side with ALS is...

There are few chances you can go wrong ! Keep us posted with your wrist-shot when the new one arrives. Best, Mahesh.,

You could just pick up a used (generation 1 or 2) 1815 Chrono until you're ready for the current reference.

If that's not appealing I will say having recently seen them in the metal the Saxonia Outsized Date is an attractive watch.

Top of my list for Lange in that price range

Would be the Lange 1 Darth. Platinum black dial and black date. Sublime piece.... in the current collection the white gold Lange 1 moon with black dial is also very appealing to my eyes.... both would complement a rose gold L1 well as character so vastly ...

Will surely check it

Lange 1 moonphase is too similar to the Lange 1 but the dial combination may make sense.

yes perhaps look similar but the presence of the moon

makes it very different in character... as does the black dial for that matter.... good luck!

Saxonia Calendar

 By: galt : January 27th, 2019-13:09
Why Saxonia Calendar 1. Big date which is a very "Lange feature" and great on a calendar. 2. Perfect size. The Lange case wears relatively big and I find the 38.5 wears just right. 3. Microrotor movement in the calendar is interesting because it is actual...

Thank you

I feel it is close to 1815 chrono in price and if I am spending that amount of money, I would like to get the chrono first.

I had the chrono and I traded it for the Saxonia Calendar

I own a Lange 1 in white gold and loves it. I plan to add a 1815 chrono black dial WG in a few years time. However I will rather not get another Lange as an intermediate solution to my real itch. Don’t think it can scratch that itch and even if does, it w...

Great advice. It’s jsut that after discovering Lange, I find so may of their models appealing. Unlike Patek, VC or even Breguet where I like 1-2 non-sports watches at most, Lange has a lot of offerings that I really like.

Ya I have the same sentiment as you

I like many of Lange offerings versus what I see from Patek, AP or Breguet where I only like a few specific models. I would love to own the Saxonia ultra thin copper blue if I have the extra moolah now! Loves that blue mesmerising adventurine dial.😍 ...

+100
