This is terrible! So AQ while knowingly in possession of stolen property
Dec 27, 2015,16:13 PM
hands the watch back to the party that gave it to them, rather than giving it to its legal owner, or holding it until it's sorted out in a legal arena.
And upon receipt of everything they asked for to prove that it is your stolen watch, they declare "ambiguity of title", and in light of that, GIVE IT BACK TO THE FENCE, or the poor sap who bought it from the fence?!?!?
I would think that the global play of this - watch stolen in france, auctioned by a swiss company in Hong Kong, could just amplify involvement of authorities.
Their reputation deserves to suffer because of this, and I'm sure that it will. But if their business depends on looking away from questionable sources, maybe they can't afford to do the right thing.
Shameful.
I'm really sorry you had to go through this Nicolas, and I'm really glad that you're calling them out on it. It's a small world.
