Thanks Patrick!

I did own the 1815.  moonphase once and I have since sold it.  Somehow moonphases I have realised do not appeal to me as much as a simple dress watch.

2020 Lange Novelties

 By: patrick_y : September 8th, 2020-19:24
A. Lange & Søhne, the venerable German manufacturer of watches in Glashutte has announced their novelties for 2020. Three watches to choose from at three different price points. Limited to 175 pieces, permit me to introduce the 1815 THIN HONEYGOLD is a ti...

They are lovely...

I think it's a successful tribute. If $ is no object I will love to own all 3 but unfortunately it's always an object. The 1815 Thin is nice but too similar to my 1815 HG 200th Anniversary, although the enamel dial is tempting. I'm a little puzzle why the...

I also agree. But technically, it has no fly back mechanism

, no split minute and no jumping minute.

no jump minute? [nt]

All three winners to me!

1815 Thin in Honeygold with enamel dial=ultimate dress watch at 6.3mm thin with only 2 hands. The Rattrapante! First black dial Honeygold Lange. First rattrapante only chrono. If only I had the means this would be at the top of my wish list. No words for ...

I agree. The Rattrapante is probably the top piece.

 By: patrick_y : September 8th, 2020-20:13
I'd probably want to wear it on my wrist just to confirm it's not too thick. I tend to go for thinner watches personally.

My favourite would be

 By: sham1 : September 8th, 2020-21:01
the 1815 ultra thin. I have just called the boutique to enquire about it and surprisingly, they will only be receiving one piece. I think at 38mm in diameter and 6.3mm thick, it would make an excellent dress watch and blend well with my small collection o...

The price of the 1815 Ultra Thin is going to push up the value of the 1815 Moonphase Honey Gold that came out nearly ten years ago...

 By: patrick_y : September 9th, 2020-10:26
Try to get that Moonphase one Sham1! That's the one to get! 1815 Moonphase timepieces have always been thin, not too big, and a cool mechanism!

Thanks Patrick!

All three are highly desirable

 By: samwan : September 8th, 2020-21:12
but unfortunately I have no more kidneys to sell... These pieces are winners at the pinnacle of fine German watchmaking. The ultra-thin is classy, the Rattrapante innovative and the Tourbograph is the best one of its kind to-date. Best Sam

I’m with sam on this

Thought of selling my liver but don’t think it’s worth much 🤪

It's worth a lot still if you don't have cirrhosis!

 By: patrick_y : September 9th, 2020-10:29
But I wouldn't sell! Geez, all this talk about kidneys and livers, people are going to think we deal in black market surgical body parts!

🤣🤣 [nt]

I am curious about the new deployant buckle(s)...

 By: CR : September 8th, 2020-21:28
The 1815 Rattrapante and the Tourbograph PLM PC come with 18mm deployants. It's unclear if the latter is the heavier, detachable style that comes with the Lange 31 and Terraluna. In any case, it appears that Lange is now making at least one type of 18mm d...

They didn't until now. And I found out it's the quick-release/heavy-duty version in HG, on the Tourbograph...

 By: CR : September 9th, 2020-12:48
I'm not sure if the Rattrapante comes with a deployant or not. I've seen conflicting information about that.

The 1815 RATTRAPANTE HONEYGOLD is to die for!

 By: cory : September 8th, 2020-21:47
Really nice novelty.

6.3mm

 By: sham1 : September 8th, 2020-23:25
0.4mm thicker than the Saxonia thin due to the enamel dial.

Makes me want the 1815 Moonphase Honey Gold more!

 By: patrick_y : September 9th, 2020-11:43
That Honey Gold 1815 Moonphase is fantastic and it's not very thick neither!

Maybe. But I’m not convinced that these white dials are the right match for the honeygold.

The eggshell of FA 200th Anniversary is the perfect dial to highlight this case. Just my personal opinion of course.

If the 1815 Rattrapante was in platinum I would be haunted.

 By: emcquillan : September 8th, 2020-23:00
Or, perhaps an eggshell colour dial with the honey gold. Not convinced of the honey gold case and black dial combination, but so hard to tell in these press photos. If it was in platinum I would be obsessed and thinking about what to sell to help fund the...

41.2 x 12.6 yes large, but manageable for the beauty maybe.

 By: emcquillan : September 8th, 2020-23:11
Would really depend on case shape and how it sits on the wrist. To be honest part of me is quite relieved it’s not in platinum, but sad I most likely won’t get to see this in the metal.

Honey Gold is much, much more lighter in colour than all photos here (including the live picture of the 1815 ratrap.)

By: COUNT DE MONET : September 9th, 2020-04:29
When new and outdoors it is just a little coloured, almost like wg, a very pale rg. Indoors it catches the light and looks more like pale yg. When it has aged, than outdoors more like rg and indoors like yg. If you polish the case, all starts again.

Thank you Patrick [nt]

Thank you dear Count. So maybe he am haunted,

 By: emcquillan : September 9th, 2020-18:20
Because I love the 1815 line and I love the Rattrapante.

Now that’s a problem I would love to have...

 By: mahesh : September 9th, 2020-12:12
Without an iota of doubt...moonphase, much more lovely elements on the dial !

I would have liked to see the DS movement in the 1815 ratrap.

If you watched the video

 By: Darron : September 9th, 2020-13:11
You can see the relief/applied numerals markings along the circumference of the dial in the tourb! Quite amazing detail.

I’m really loving the 175th anniversary models

 By: Mr.Gatsby : September 11th, 2020-09:30
If money isn’t a constrain and size didn’t matter, then the tourbograph has to be the one. But because both of these are actual constrains, the 1815 Thin HG is the one for me. I find it pretty special...although it looks kinda normal at first sight.

Looking normal isn't a bad thing!

 By: patrick_y : September 11th, 2020-11:13
I like this model as well. But I bet I'd still defer to the 1815 Moonphase in honey gold if I had a direct comparison. For a "thin" watch the 1815 Thin isn't that thin.

Patrick, I suspect you might be right

 By: Mr.Gatsby : September 13th, 2020-03:14
I would like to think from a value perspective the moonphase ref. 212.50 (I believe this is the one you’re referring to?) trumps the 1815 thin and is a better buy in terms of complication, price, etc. However I believe the 1815 thin also has some very goo...

Yes! That one! 212.050

 By: patrick_y : September 13th, 2020-15:22
The 1815 Thin definitely has a lot of good qualities! Slightly lower production numbers. The enamel dial is nice, but the guilloche dial of the 1815 Moonphase is nice too. The 212.050 also has a Honey Gold balance cock in the movement! Which is very diffi...
