Great report on this marvellous brand, the more I look at it, the more I understand your love for Lange.
For me many things: first no great surprise like a sport or a musical watch even if the Zeitwerk Luminous is quite original. But there is no disapointment, exactly the contrary.
1-They continue to reinforce their identity. Even with a large choice of models a Lange is easy to identifiy, that's VERY important for Lange and for Lange lovers imho, especially in such a high end. Their finish seems to be always on top on your photos.
This a major SIHH for Lange also for another reason, they gave birth to children of older models but making them differently. Again the identity of the brand is reenforced, they create the beginning of a dynasty. If you look at legendary models like Patek Worldtime, ChronoPerpetual or more casual Rolex Submariner, Omega Speedmaster, these models exist since 50 years, that what make them legendary, I think Lange is one rare brand which is not short sighted. They could have made a sport steel model to make easy money... they didn't, they didn't betray their identity.
That's very clever and rare.
2-the models
-The 1815 chronograph is marvellous. The new one is perfectly balanced more than the older one, but it loses also a litlle personnality. I prefer it in "yellow" gold in this new version and in white gold in the older one. The improvements done are just exactly what was needed. Great Job.
-The 1815 PDL: not disapointed, but... don't know, it doesn't catch me as it should or as the first one. Still a marvellous watch again. I have to try it.
As for the other hommage, I regret the american Decoration of the caliber (looks like american pocket watches, Elgin or Hamilton), Lange has already a very decorated caliber, that's really too much here, but it's a detail.
-The Quantième Annuel: perfection, the perpetual calendar had some presentation problems imho, this Annual Calendar correct them. The eye catching moon, simplicity and balance of the dial, proportions. most beautiful QA imho. For me the best Lange noveltie this year.
-The Zeitwerk luminous: this kind of piece is so special that I have to try it, I prefer it that way than the traditionnal Zeitwerk, crazy Lange.
-The L1 Daymatic: Perfect integration of the day, no mistake. The full rotor is great, but I still think it's a pity not to use the "big micro rotor" which is part of the Lange identity.
Lange goes on buiding his new history, and they are doing it with a great vision on the future, more than the novelties, that is what strikes me here.
Thanks FX
