I have asked ALS if they can let me know the cause of the 'oxidation'? As indicated in one of my replies, my present concern is from the pictures, it looks like somehow water got in. Given that I am the 1st and original owner, and it's only been serviced once and by ALS, I am naturally concerned if this means that somehow the case integrity is compromised or something. The only time this watch gets anywhere near water is when I wash my hands; the watch's never been immersed in water, not even once.
Anyway, thank you all again for your input. Cannot wait to get back my 1815 and wear it again...

I think they should cover it under warranty.

According to my watchmaker this is something that would require a very great amount of strength in a modern manual watch. I wonder about moisture causing both issues.

Further Update - ALS' come back to advise..
