Steel Langes

The most reliable info I have heard is that 20-something steel L1's with white dials were produced, sold by various dealers around the world, mainly in Asia and Europe.

3 black dial steel L1's were produced, all ordered by Pisa Orologeria in Milan.

(The service watches were the 1815 steel pieces, most or all in black dial I think.)

There is also one original PLM Tourbillon in steel, one Double Split in steel (the latter which ended up at auction in 2013), and one steel 1815 Homage to Walter Lange (which sold last year at auction for over $850K).

Been done before! Rare 25? Pieces with three black dials I wouldn’t mind a new version, perhaps detachable bracelet ...

For the people who don’t know the back story...

...these watches were produced to give the customer a watch while his was in service. At the beginning the service was for free if you didn‘t know... Richemont forced them to put the free service in the bin.

No sir.

Those are 1815 watches. These were sold to clients. There is even a photo of the black dial version with Italian Lira from 1996 on my Instagram page. Pisa bought around 20, including all three black dials.

Yes that is correct, above post confused the two references

I had in mind that the only produced steel watches were these service watches and the 1815 "Homage to Walter Lange" which was auctioned.

The version in the first pic would find many happy buyers! The perfect strap, too. Daniel

It is indeed! Same dial as 101.027X in WG, and 101.022 in YG...

The 25th anniversary )

Yes, quite similar, though 25th Anniversary dials are different in some ways...

The older silver dials are very simple, austere, and pure: Just metallic silver, with slightly different texturing for the subdials, and all black printed markers. The printed markers on the 25th Anniversary pieces are blue, not black, and they have littl...

Sure of course,

I was just referring to printed numerals and blued hands, sorry for the misleading comment. I have a pretty amateur photo of it, I will send you through PM if possible. You're right, it bears the greatest resemblance indeed.

Oh yes, I assumed you knew the difference! The only reason I made the clarification here...

... was for the benefit of others who may be reading this thread and are less familiar with Lange. I didn't want anyone to mistakenly think that all these dials are identical! Thanks for the offer of the photo as well!
