Richard Lange. Again.

A few more pictures of the RL.  I go through phases, as I’m sure most of us do, and right now this one is getting a lot of attention.

The pull of the indies for me is very strong, it has been for many years for me, and there are always several watches (current and past production) which I’d love to own.

But the last few years I’ve been pulled in a little more by Lange.  The Lange aesthetic for the most part didn’t appeal to me back when (as some more experienced collectors might say) Lange was more pure and so I missed what I can now see as some really great watches.  This specific Richard Lange may have come along a little later, and with some controversy, however it still captures some of what the more learned Lange collectors might consider the older Lange.

Sublime is an over-used word here I know. But for this watch there are not many substitutes

I think this is one of the purest AL&S watches out there. Is the CS of FPJ IMO with So much to offer. The first time I saw this watch in person I thought the size and parameters were about as good as you can get without throwing too much out there and...

I don't blame you.

On my wrist at the start of the week. ...

👍🏻

That would have been a home run. However, I think it would have made the watch more formal (like it’s siblings).

For me, that might not have been a good thing as part of the attraction of this watch is that it is a little more casual. Maybe I’m wrong on that, I guess (or hope) we will never know !

I simply love this watch

It is the epitome of a watch lover’s watch imho

Much obliged my friend!

Well, I hope you stay on that phase for a while!

I'm on a similar trajectory.

I've added 4 Lange pieces this year. Everything about my collection seem to gravitate towards ALS... Enjoy the ride!

I went from one (Dato) to zero and then to two (this plus 1815).

I’ve been looking at some others but outside of a Zeitwerk and a yellow gold Lange 1 (earlier version) nothing else really grabs my attention. And the ZW is unlikely as it’s really too much for my wrist.

There are some interesting pieces in the back catalogue too.

And there remains some inconsistencies in the market for Lange, something which might not last and without getting into what we can’t talk about is a definite consideration for any collector.

You really use a proper camera for this one this time!

The Richard Lange definitely deserves the love. It is a timeless classic, as with many other Lange models, that keeps pulling you in when you least expect it.

Yes, proper camera no iPhone for a change.

It is a classic for sure, forever timeless.

I know the feeling

What a dial

I love the texture and purity of this dial. Wonderful choice.

Yes, that’s what sold me too.
