my review on Odysseus

Jul 08, 2020,08:24 AM

I visited my L&S Boutique today and had the pleasure to discover the 2 ODYSSEUS versions (prototypes).

I like both, much more than expected, after internet reviews.

First of all the steel version has a nice blue dial and the texture is sporty at look.

Many had discussed about the steel bracelet. In fact it is very comfortable on wrist. The only con is the look is quite large where linked to the case.

I could play with the 2 pushers. They are firm, not smooth as for Datograph.

I also had a look at the date change which is training from 23h42 to 0h12.

See photos.

Second the WG version. I prefer this version and the specific strap is very nice and the stitch color is perfect for an elegant sport watch.

The dial is more refined IMHO and very L&S.

If I like this new model, I regret that L&S had written “AUTOMATIC” on the dial and I should prefer an instantaneous date/day change.

Congratulations to L&S and their teams for this experience.

Great to be able to compare the models

Why do you say prototypes? I’m pretty sure all Boutiques have production pieces.

When they receive a real piece, the lucky owner arrives soon and bring it ASAP.

No real model in stock and no chance to see one pre-sold..

I believe the UK Boutique has a ‘Real’ model in stock that isn’t for sale and is simply to show clients.

Are there differences between the prototypes you were shown and the production pieces?

In fact, no difference except the fact that the mecanism is blocked.

I only could move hands and day/date on the Steel version, but it was not possible on the WG version.

Thanks for your interesting comments!
