Langematik on a GF style bracelet

Sep 30, 2020,07:19 AM

To me it is a very cool Lange -  Understated and underated.

The first automatic from this brand, it also shares some design cues with my 2 favourite ALS limited editions.  While it has the same layout, size and view from the back as the Langematik Anniversary; the front has similarities to the Emil Lange moonphase.

There is a white dial platinum version that looks like a Lange interpretation of a famous “Amagnetic” Patek.  But in my opinion, there is something special about a black dial Lange in a white metal (I half wish it was steel).

Any other Lange’s that pair well with a jeans and T shirt?

Cheers and Thanks for looking.

...not sure why we don't see more of them...

I couldn't agree more.

They have just enough age now that the tritium lume has a bit of patina.

Fantastic combo 👍

I thought about assembling this combo, but the thought of white gold against steel bothers me a little. Enjoy and let me know if that risk is worth taking please 😛

Well worth it - I assure you that it feels perfectly balanced. =)

Having a conservative case size (and not being thick at all), means that it won't be top heavy. The watch disappears on the wrist in a way that would not be possible on a WG bracelet.

Superb to hear

Can you Pm me where you got your bracelet please?

Happy to share

Bulang and Sons - and specifically for the 19mm lug to lug width.

A Lange and Sohne on a Bulang and Son (s)

These are rare references, no wonder we do not see them more

Not often seen, but well worth some attention.

is the big date, manual wound, one of the first models released With a blue dial and the split ALS logo sorry about the weird photo angle - I experience some issues on the uploading front ...

A lot of charm packed into 34mm.

 By: Nicetomeetyou : September 30th, 2020-09:49
The big date is emblematic of the brand. Blue will always be classic. Hard to find a better brand for a manual wind watch. Lange’s tend to be signed either straight, curved and less often split. This design has a nice symmetry. I have a fondness for the c...

A curved signature is nice, Vacheron does it nicely too

 By: VinnieD : September 30th, 2020-09:57
But a split signature is really unique AFAIK

Agreed [nt]

It looks awesome and vintage stylish

It reminds me of the glorious Patek 3417. Which version of the bracelet did you get? Polished, Satin or Semi? Wear it in good health. René

Yes, the white dial / platinum version even more so; But upsized a bit to 37mm while adding a beautiful 3/4 rotor.

 By: Nicetomeetyou : September 30th, 2020-10:34
The Patek 3417 prices are a bit prohibitive at this point. Well deserving, as it is an icon to many collectors. I chose the polished bracelet to match the polished case. The dial is conservative...so the bracelet can really stand out.

Thanks a lot for the info

Enjoy your beautiful watch and stay safe. Best regards. René

To you as well [nt]

...

Classic combo with a croc strap.

 By: Nicetomeetyou : September 30th, 2020-10:49
Is the small seconds hand blued?

yes it is blued

 By: penfriend : September 30th, 2020-11:29
I purchased it new in 1998 after meeting Mr. Lange and Mr. Bluemlein

It’s all about the details.

 By: Nicetomeetyou : September 30th, 2020-12:12
The blued seconds hand gives visual interest to the subdial.

Lovely!

I am very glad you posted your beautiful watch and bracelet! I have a 19mm WG Lange bracelet but haven't attached it to a watch. I took this pic over a year ago but never decided which watch to use with the bracelet (the one on the left is a blue-dial sib...

I didn't know that there was a WG/blue dial variant. I'm glad you shared those pictures!

 By: Nicetomeetyou : September 30th, 2020-11:21
That WG Factory Lange bracelet definitely deserves to be worn. You certainly have a great set of ALS. That Lumen - bracelet combo does make it look more casual. The mesh bracelet is aftermarket?

Yes, aftermarket steel bracelet on the Lumen, $60 USD...

 By: CR : September 30th, 2020-11:51
You're right about the Langematik. Lange didn't make an "official" blue-dial variant. My watch was born as a black-dial 301.027. Then, in the late 1990s, the original purchaser (who was well known to pre-Richemont Lange at the time) learned that a blue pr...

Thanks for sharing the backstory.

Very unique indeed.

;) [nt]

Your Lumen matches well with jeans

Love it... so PUT THAT WG BRACELET TO GO WITH THE BLUE DIAL ALREADY!

 By: chap : September 30th, 2020-13:51
! And post pics... good stuff

Thanks lol. I'll post pics if I do it!

 By: CR : September 30th, 2020-15:22
These were the other combinations that I thought might look decent (old pics below), but I wasn't sure about mixing a PT case with a WG bracelet -- so in the end I put it on hold and did nothing yet. ...

Those are my favourite 2 ALS limited editions.

 By: Nicetomeetyou : September 30th, 2020-15:44
Quite a set indeed. Yes, please share a picture if you end up pairing that bracelet.

Lol... you have your bases covered

 By: chap : October 1st, 2020-08:03
In that case... I vote: ...

I'm a bit starstruck -- Seems so many on WPS have these 2 models. BONUS for the picture in picture shot.

I think most would agree Amanico's pictures of these 2 references are the absolute pinnacle.

Too kind. Thank you! [nt]

Well deserved. [nt]

Though as the weather turns cooler now, it is time to change from steel to leather! An opportunity to change the look and feel of the time piece.

Definitely the Lange DNA is strong in this one.
