Lange 1 Timezone 25th Anniversary
Oct 14, 2019,01:55 AM
The Timezone model was first introduced in 2005, after which I acquired the rose gold, gray dial version that I found rather attractive
But, for reasons best known to myself, I parted with it.
So when Lange announced the inclusion of the Timezone model in the 25th Anniversary series, I wasted no time in expressing my interest. Initially, I did not have high hopes as the 10 models (each limited to 25 pieces) are to be sold as a set...
Fortunately, the boutique soon told me an exception was granted so I waited patiently. The anxiety was over when the watch arrived a few days ago but since I was in Dubai last week attending a Breitling event, I could only pick up the watch today. Viola...
In contrast to the standard (WG) version, the watch has blue indices, blued steel hands, as well as blue lettering of the cities - as opposed to black. The only other color on the dial is red - for the low power reserve marking and GMT.
Normally, the main dial shows home time and the sub-dial at 5 o'clock depicts local time (which is accompanied by its own day/night indicator), but a synchronization mechanism allows local and home time to be swapped.
As with other 25th Anniversary models, the watch features hand-engraved motifs (in blue ink) on the balance cock as well as cock for second intermediate wheel.
The watch is relatively large with a diameter of 41.9 mm and height of 10.9 mm. It has a power reserve of 72 hours.
Please accept my apologies for the mug shots using a smartphone. I will ask my friend to take better pictures in due course.
Finally, a wrist shot.
Cheers
Sam
