Thanks bro. Indeed I chose and prefer the 1st gen version of the Double Split which was produced for only 6 short years (2004 - 2009)...
A great source of info for all things Lange could be found on Langepedia's website. See the link below as it describes the history of the Double Split and all it's variants. If you think about total production, even over the span of years, we can clearly see that Lange did not produce many Double Splits at all depending on the variants.
My favorite variant is this 1st gen in PT with the panda subdials and Roman numerals 👍

Thanks Darren. I handled the 1st edition Triple Split but never thought about it as I knew it was just too big for wrist. I also preferred the black dial and PT case of the DS but again was reluctant due to size, weight, and thickness...
I guess I just needed to get over the numbers and jump in to truly find out if I could rock it or not. So this was indeed an unexpected surprise 😜👍 Maybe I can see a Triple Split in my future at some point in a different case material and dial color 🤔😉 ...

Thanks bro. I am still a bit shocked I can wear it and pull it off. Always thought it was going to be too big and heavy but it truly is all about the strap as well as the diameter - thickness ratio - lug length 😉👍

Thanks my friend. The Double Split was really a breakthrough back when it was introduced. Just think about it. No one up to that point has ever made a wristwatch that was able to split the minutes along with the seconds...
That is just crazy considering the centuries of watchmaking!! I truly feel the Double Split will go down as an important piece and a turning point for daring to do more and go where others have not 👍
Ditto to that… and in fact, I am also sensing that Lange’s brand value is going up.
More and more people are realising how intricate and detailed Lange watches are. The effort that goes into watchmaking, well thought out designs and smart engineering can easily match the Trinity; some might argue, even better.
For sure. Lange is definitely getting more attention, both positive and negative. As they say, even bad publicity is good publicity. As for brand value, I think we can say that Lange has always been in high esteem with connoisseurs...
but now the layman are starting to realize just how good they really are 😉👍
