Datograph service question

I’m traveling tomorrow to look at a 2001 Datograph. The seller is a dealer with a great reputation but does not know whether the watch has ever been serviced. How nervous should I be about the possibility that the watch has never been serviced in its 17-y...

I agree wholeheartedly! If it is running well, no need to send it in. I wouldn’t let the lack of service alone stop you from purchasing it. Hope all goes well! [nt]

I would agree also, if it's running well and the chronograph is running well then all good.

But not unreasonable to factor in a future service when thinking about price to be paid.

It should wind really smoothly and easily, and you may see the chrono hand stutter slightly in the first 2-3 seconds.
