I'm VERY pleasantly surprise with how much I like this watch!

I wasn't sure if I'd take to it. Bought it from a friend (who is probably reading this now -- thanks D.!) because it was an easy, comfortable, familiar transaction.

When I got it, I hated the glare from the crystal -- I could never wear a Lange with that much glare -- and Lange doesn't make AR-coated crystals for the Cabaret. So I spent a ton of time trying to find the best optical coating lab or lab customer (in the US) to add AR coating to my uncoated crystal.

Finally I found a fellow watch enthusiast who, in his retirement, had developed his own AR coating and had a lab apply it to batches of uncoated aftermarket Rolex crystals that he'd then resell. After talking with him about the details, his particular coating seemed fantastic -- really low reflectivity -- so I sent the crystals (front and back) to him and was amazed by the result. It's the best AR coating I've ever seen -- at least as good as what I've seen on several Omegas (which are less reflective than any other brand I've ever seen). Even under bright points of light (such as the bulbs in jewelry stores), you're just not getting the glare. And without that glare, the watch is SO pleasing to the eye!

[Sorry for rambling on. The AR coating and overall vibe of the watch clearly exceeded my expectations!]

Another Grey Day Choice (on Big Date Day, the 25th)!

LOG (Lange Owners Group) Cabaret circa 2010, courtesy of a fellow collector. The Lange bracelet with the straight endlinks goes especially well with the rectangular case shape. Not a bad watch! ...

Great one!

Don’t see many bracelets.

Very special piece! Great combination

Congrats for a bold choice

For me, the bracelet makes the watch.

Insofar as it gives it much more presence, and that touch of sportiness! I’ve tried several Cabaret on over the years but always they were missing something for my personal taste, clearly that was a bracelet! Beautiful, and rare. A good combination!

Now we are ...

talking. One out of 25 watches and the (Wellendorf) bracelet is just the cream on top. Great!

AR coating ...

is important to me as well and especially when I was in the market for black dials only. For me it was (back in the days) impossible to get used to three different looking "white metal black dial" watches from Lange when looking at them. Anyway yours look...

Thank you for this!

Whenever I've gotten older Langes that came with non-AR coated crystals, I've immediately sent them to Lange to have those crystals replaced with AR-coated ones.

Bravo! Getting your own AR coating

On the sapphire? Top and bottom of the sapphire or only bottom side of the sapphire? Of course top and bottom AR coating is better but then less durable.

Double sided, and on both crystals (dial side and movement side).

I've never had a problem with double-sided AR coating getting scratched on any watch (including other brands) during normal use, but I know it happens.
