Lange & Sohne in the UK ...

Nov 19, 2018,03:41 AM

I was at a champagne & canapés pre-Christmas thing at Stanford Hall in Leicestershire yesterday, given by Pragnell of Stratford-upon-Avon. It was unusually well done: an excellent venue, not too many 'guests', an interesting range of watches, jewellery & displays, including two jewellers 'in action' (also shown on a screen) and my wife & I enjoyed it.

In the Lange & Sohne display was a Zeitwerk Minute Repeater and other excellent pieces. To my surprise, these were almost ignored. It was as if there was no interest in the brand at all.

How strange.

Can you share the funny story behind the Cabaret Nico? You got me curious = ) Best, David

I was sure someone will ask... Ok here it is...

THIS Cabaret was on our collectors market some what? 10 years ago, a bit less? I saw it, thought 24 hours on how to get it, because, if my memory serves me well, the seller lived in Asia. 24 hours after, I found a solution, but the watch was not available...

What a great little story.

I am sure the friendship is worth more than the Cabaret itself. Happy 10th (or a bit less) friendiversary for you guys. = ) Best, David

Never!!! :)))) [nt]

No message body

Blah blah...

When I attend similarly fashionable events I refrain from describing them in such a high brow way. It’s a real turn off when one focuses on the setting and not the watches.

Nice collection! [nt]

Not only very, very pretty faces there.

Yes Count, I agree.

I'll try some movement shots later. cheers fernando

You seem to like black dial watches...

and Pt from Lange, of course. That RL is trying to fit in Very nice collection, fernando.

Which is the odd man out?

 By: fernando : November 19th, 2018-16:53
the RL or the Langematik? Black and pt. was my original theme. Missed out on the Emil which was also on my sights. cheers fernando

Always good to see a black Cabaret..

Surprisingly, I’m liking that sax-o-mat more than the 3 below. Thanks for sharing. Seeing that Cabaret is a treat Best, Echi

Here's a shot of them both.

Pls. excuse the poor quality of the photos. Two very different styles but very Lange. Best fernando ...

Gotta love that micro(?) rotor..

 By: Echi : November 19th, 2018-21:03
Also how that plate covers almost 3/4 of the movement on the Cabaret. Maybe I’ll request that common friend of ours to bring his Cabaret when I visit him in Tokyo this December Love your pieces, man. Thank you for sharing the backside! Best, Echi

They call it the 3/4 rotor and it's such a delight to view.

The three-quarter plate, made of untreated German silver, is also a hallmark of Lange. My pleasure! Best fernando

Cool shot! [nt]

Lighting, angles, glare...who cares! The watches steal the show! Thanks for sharing and love the Double Split! A major grail and mine says hello!
