Yes, many have said they prefer the old version. They say it's more emotive while the new one is too clinical. In photos, I agree. But I have seen both in the flesh and tried them on my wrist, and actually prefer the look of the new one on my wrist. The old one somehow didn't sing to me on my wrist. The new one looks better in the flesh than it does in photos. End of the day, it's a personal thing.

In any event, it looks like you have already made up your mind to go with a Lange 1, moonphase or stealth. My take is to go with what caught your eye first lest it comes back to haunt you. And it will.

Maybe I expect too much from non-simple watches...
.. Lange 1 is a simple 3 hands + PR watch which can be with simple dial, while L1 MP has MP and that "accent" put the emphasis on the emptiness of the rest of the plain dial.... you know what I am getting at? The same goes to (to me anyway) RL Tourbillon ...

sooner. between your choices, I would choose the 1815 chorono. aesthetically its beautiful, movemnt wise its the best. and have you seen the ,movement? you can wear it upside down and people wont look at you funny but with awe.

I would go for the 1815 Chrono. As already mentioned here, the difference between the Datograph and the 1815 Chrono is the big date. Both come with 60 hour power reserves. Considering the amount of work they put into the movement, it's good value for mone...
