Didn't know about the plated steel spring bars.
Will give it a try. It definitely looks great on this bracelet.

I actually need another half link ...

🤣🤣🤣Sorry for misleading!!

 By: Darron : November 5th, 2022-14:58
I need to change the title to “SS bracelet group” 🤣 like others here. But I would consider a wellendorf if I could get my hands on one and it fit multiple Pt Lange.

Enjoy, mon ami.

You must have a good feeling of the heft of platinum…

 By: Mike H : November 5th, 2022-10:36
Personally I love the Datograph on a nice black gator strap (probably one of the only watches that I like with a black strap) but I must admit it is definitely cool and it must balance better the weight of the watch on the wrist (I remember when I was hav...

Oh boy… now I feel embarrassed.

 By: Darron : November 5th, 2022-15:02
In my haste I left out SS 🤦‍♂️.. You’re right that a misaligned a hole on a strap or a loose bracelet is not good for the Datograph due to its bulk

Thanks Craig!!!

Oops… my fault again.

 By: Darron : November 5th, 2022-15:06
I guess I have established that the bracelet will look awesome on the Dato, but I particularly like the wellendorf design better at least when it comes to the design and uniqueness. I am not sure if the more intricate wellendorf will look good on all mult...

I have some scale pics of just the bracelet(s)...

20mm Lange platinum: 20mm Shinola steel: ...

Is this the ...

Shinola bracelet that CR posted in an earlier thread ? I like the look and tempted to try it on my ZW, but concerned about potential wear and tear of the pm springbars ...

Lange springbars are plated steel, not PM, so no worries there. But..

 By: CR : November 5th, 2022-16:50
It's the potential wear to (a) the inside of the lugs (from the steel bracelet rubbing against the PM inner lugs) and (2) the lug holes that often concern people. Regarding wear to the inside of the lugs, I'm not sure if anyone has been wearing this combi...

Do all Lange lugs have Ti inserts?

 By: Darron : November 5th, 2022-17:16
Never checked that close!?

Not all...

 By: CR : November 5th, 2022-17:38
In 2004, starting with the Double Split model, Lange began using little titanium inserts/sleeves in their springbar holes. My understanding is that Lange doesn't do this in all of their watch cases -- only larger cases (Lange 1 size and larger).

Great info!

Yes same bracelet from CR.

You are right Dirac, Mohs scale of SS is slightly harder then Pt. More of a concern for WG.. so as Craig said, the main issue is inside lugs. But it looks so good!!!! ...

That really does look great! You mentioned a half-link...

 By: CR : November 5th, 2022-17:42
Does Shinola make half-links for this? I'm so used to bracelets that either don't have half-links or have half-links that are too expensive that I got used to wearing them as-is, a little loose, which is fine for me.

Looks awesome! 👍👏

Surprisingly pleasing 😉👌

Dato ss

 By: nice2guy : November 22nd, 2022-20:56
I just saw this post. I am the fellow who first posted, maybe a couple years ago, about this combo. So happy you have put the Shinola ss on this watch. So balanced on the wrist with this combo. And I get to wear the watch on hot nyc days. On the lug issue...

Yes!! You are the OG, sorry for not citing you 😀

 By: Darron : November 23rd, 2022-05:05
Can you clarify on the wear in the lugs? There are no markings on the inner lug due to the SS edge of the bracelet rubbing? That was what I was afraid of since SS is a little harder in the Vickers scale relative to Pt. White gold maybe an issue though sin...

No problem on citing me. You already have.

 By: nice2guy : November 23rd, 2022-16:57
I don't know if there are wear issues on the inner lugs. After reading this post, I put in my notes that I will bring to Lange (I'm in nyc) for inspection. I will post the answer when I get it. But there really isn't much movement of the bracelet. It may ...

Thanks! Looking forward!

That'd be helpful to several WUS members, so thanks in advance. If you bring it back to Alkis...

 By: CR : November 24th, 2022-22:56
... you may want to do two things while the bracelet is removed: (1) try to take a few decent close-up pics of the inside of the lugs, and (2) find out if your Datograph's lug holes have the little titanium sleeves/inserts in them. I'm not sure if the (po...

Visit with dato on bracelet

Saw Alkis. Photos below. There are some scratches on inside lugs. I was a bit surprised. I now realize it has to do with ss being harder than platinum. Alkis did smooth the bracelet at lugs. He didn't seem too concerned because this could be lasered at ne...

New look for Dato

I did however change from bracelet to strap, having to do with some wear on inside lugs. Thanks so much to Darrony for his Fluco Nautilus Olive strap suggestion. I have it on a deployant and it is so comfortable. Its thicker than the Lange suggested strap...

Super!

Wonderful! Thanks very much for the update and the photos!

 By: CR : December 8th, 2022-01:53
It's helpful to get these details. Appreciate your sharing them and sorry to hear about the wear on the inside of the lugs.

Thanks you!

CR, thanks for your insight on potential wear on inside lugs and info on titanium inserts. I much appreciate the education.

Hi nice2guy

Not sure if the nautilus strap was my idea but looks good! Thanks for the update.

my mistake

 By: nice2guy : December 8th, 2022-20:14
I looked, and actually the Fluco Nautilus watch strap suggestion came from Watchlover42. So thanks so much to Watchlover.

Nice

 By: nice2guy : December 9th, 2022-21:42
I like the look. It seems a bit thinner and if so, its not a Fluco Nautilus. So would that be a Fluco strap, but one that is less then the 18mm at the small end? And if its thinner than the Nautilus, does it support the watch the same in terms of weight? ...
