Gorgeous

I just looked for this piece at the wempe boutique when visiting Berlin, but only found the grey one (see photo). I found the grey version underwhelming compared to the photos on the internet. I was looking for a second watch for my wife.

I’m intrigued that no one has commented (positively or not) on the white background of the date window. Usually, date functionality and the color of date windows is a big topic of discussion on this forum.

Looks gorgeous, and I hope that you both wear it in good health.

I also like how the seconds hand stops at 0/60 when power reserve goes to zero, wonder how they do that? It is a great feature and I’m sure was explained somewhere before but can anyone help enlighten me again? Thank you 🙏🏻 ...

This one doesn’t reset to zero when crown is pulled...

The seconds hand always stays at 0 when watch stops. Thanks for the endorsement, my friend 😬...I’ll wear it more since my boss seldom wears it.

He is correct

Others do this as well. From my memory I know the 1815 Up/Down does this as well. Essentially the watch has predicted it's own death!

“Time” is the most precious Nino 🙏🏻

This is a completely androgynous reference in my opinion - and looks fantastic on your wrist. Would be such an easy watch to leave the boutique with were it presented. Thanks for sharing, Colton

I think so too...

Similarly the RG version with moonphase and the Saxonia Copper Blue Being a boutique limited edition just add more appeal to it so we decided It over the other brown and grey, which is less “exotic” 😬 My pleasure, Colton 🙏🏻 ...

They only have the grey and brown. This purple is a boutique edition so you won’t find it in ADs. The date background will be hard to match for purple so white is logical choice but I do agree it may be a little distracting in my case where the tenth wind...

The size looks perfect on you as well.

And didn’t know you like purple too? 😉🤣 You are also of royal nobility.

Lol. Ok. You must have liked purple enough to wear it.

I’m helping to wind up the watch and make sure it keeps time accurately while still under warranty 🤦🏻‍♂️

Lol. Eunuch. Good one.

Looks like I did a great job showcasing this one 😊

 By: Clueless_Collector : November 8th, 2018-14:40
Visually it looks small on my wrist but on photos it’s just perfect so I wonder if I should trust my own eyes now 🤣 Thanks Kev.

No idea on the technical solution used...

The Real BOSS

Regarding the zero second stop...

 By: ik2000 : November 8th, 2018-19:58
I BELIEVE,( but could be wrong!) that the way it works is that the power reserve doesn't actually hit zero. As you get closer to zero, the accuracy of operation decreases, so I believe there is a level just above zero. After this level is reached, it wait...

Well, this is closest and most technical explanation...

 By: Clueless_Collector : November 8th, 2018-20:26
most blogs just say it’s a “clever feature” and no technical explanation. Thank you ik2000.

A beautiful dial!

 By: TheWindingStem : November 8th, 2018-22:02
i had the opportunity to see all 3 dials at SIHH and they are very special! Now regarding your question- i had the same inquiry as to how that happens and Lange told me that when the power reserve runs out a lever is activated that kicks the seconds hand ...

Thanks for the info...

 By: Clueless_Collector : November 8th, 2018-22:07
I think it is a neat feature, and next time I’ll pay attention to when the seconds hand will start moving after winding the watch. I think we can utilize this and yes, a zero reset will be better for setting the time.

Honestly, i don't think zero-reset belongs to Lange 1

 By: TheWindingStem : November 8th, 2018-22:35
The calibre 121.1 is a totally new, built from the ground-up movement with two major goals in mind from what i was told. First, making sure that the seconds hand is directly driven by the 4th wheel as opposed to being connected through additional gears. T...

Zero reset has already been in the higher end Lange pieces, if I remember reading earlier reviews...

 By: Clueless_Collector : November 8th, 2018-22:44
So that is not new to Lange, just not sure when or who have it first.

For me personally

 By: sham1 : November 8th, 2018-22:19
36.8mm is the perfect size for a Lange !! And it suits your wrist perfectly

It’s good to know there is always something for everyone 👏🏻

 By: Clueless_Collector : November 8th, 2018-22:22
I can wear watches from 36mm to 46mm, ideal for me is 39-41mm. Thanks sham1.

I agree totally

 By: sham1 : November 8th, 2018-22:44
but at 41mm, the lugs had better be small and curving downwards

This video by Lange explains it:

 By: skyeriding : November 9th, 2018-03:48
youtu.be There is a finger on the seconds hand wheel. The finger gets blocked by a lever when the power reserve is low - preventing the watch from ticking. Regards, skyeriding

Nice 👍🏻. Thanks for sharing this info 🙏🏻
