Getting deeper into Lange

Sep 01, 2021,19:11 PM

About six months ago, I purchased my first ALS, a pink gold 1815 Up/Down. I am usually a larger, chunky, technical watch wearer. This would be outside my comfort zone. But, I really admired Lange for what they do.

The 1815 gave me a new appreciation for smaller and simple. I love it. So much so, that I started hunting for a white gold, black dial companion. This combination is a little rare for Lange these days. And unable to find any stock nearby ADs, I started looking into the back catalog.

This brought me to the Grosse Saxonia Automatic. After several months of not being able to locate a Goldilocks example, I saw one pop up. The frosting on the cake was getting the L921 with zero reset. And now the honeymoon begins.

My favorite is the Lange 1815 White Gold in 40mm. I hope that one day Lange will start manufacturing this baby again!

Am in! So do I! I so wish they make it again in 40mm…

I'll find a few more like us and then I'll petition Lange to make a run of 40mm 1815 watches for us!

Congrats! I had similar experience with my up/down giving me a new appreciation for ~39mm case! Most of my collection was made up of larger watches…

Let’s just say this will not be my last Lange neither my last 39-40mm watch! Glad you enjoy yours

Congrats!
