Don't know, but this weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina USA...

I will be lucky enough to try on my favorite three Germans!  The 1st gen Dato rose gold with white dial, brown strap with RG deployant,  the first gen 1815 Chrono in the coveted rose gold case, black dial and white sub-dials, and the 36-37mm (ladies?) Lange 1 moonphase in rose gold and white dial.  There wasn't a 38.5 mm Lange 1 to try on, so I will try the small size which will likely seem tiny.

The Dato vs 1815 is a thickness comparison that I've wanted to check for many years but the stars haven't aligned until this Saturday.  I would have rather tried the Dato in the Dufour configuration, but it wasn't available.  Since the 1815 has the Dufour colors I'll get a good idea.

Will be wearing dress shirt to check clearance from the cuff.  Very, very excited!

Is the Dufour Dato (403.031) hard to acquire?

Quick question. Been doing research and trying to find the 403.031 rose gold Dato with black dial and white sub-dials... WITH the rose gold deployant clasp. I'm having lots of trouble finding one under $40k. Is the two-year run of that particular variant ...

I have been watching this one as well...

You probably can find one under $40k without original papers (but with certificate of authenticity) but with deployant clasp, probably not possible. With original papers and deployant it will be > $40k. Actually due to the top heavy weight, might be good ...

It is funny how myths are created ...

This doesn't answer your question, but in an old interview the master said that that he bought the gold dato because the Platinum was too expensive for him. If the aesthetics is what you care about keep searching, but don't do it just because someone deci...

The Dufour mystique is alluring and I also prefer the warmth of the color combination on my skin tone

which is a ruddy Irish/English pinkish tone. I am blessed to already have two stainless steel watches so I wanted to go rose gold but stay with a dark dial. I thought the Dufour color combination would look best. Many thanks for your input!

Anyone know how many was made or got a ballpark guess?

Depends upon your wrist size...

The lugs on a Lange 1 are pretty long, so the 36mm version may look just fine. Not sure if you're trying the 182.030 (Little Lange 1 Moonphase with MOP guilloche dial and white moon disc), but if so, then I hope you like it. Lange offers that watch on a w...
