My Lange 1 Moonphase with the L121.3 movement

has always had a slight rewind on every turn of the crown. I couldn't find out if this is the norm. Keeps good time, so I guess all is good.

Hi Lange Lovers! I want to add a Lange 1 to my collection and was thinking of going with the new movement (L121.1) - specifically ref 191.025. However I found that there is a bit of “recoil” when winding the watch (as tried at AD), ie crown is turning bac... 

The winding of the older generation ones is definitely "buttery smooth".

One major difference between the new and the old movement is 1 vs 2 spring barrels. So even though I have not experienced it in person I am not surprised that the much longer spring and increased tension required to maintain the same power reserve leads t... 

For me, there's not much difference between the two.

I never noticed the recoil on the newer movement until you mention it - it is ever so slight and only as it nears full wind. Get the newer movement, if just for the instant date change and seconds hand returning to 60 when the tank is empty. Here's a pic ...

I like the instant date and free sprung construction of the newer movement… but the old one has charm too (and apparently zero winding recoil !

+1 -- I prefer the look of the older movement, too, with the two sub-bridges.

Of course, many people will like the refinements of the newer movement as well. The good thing is that both newer and older movements seem to have no systemic problems.
