The A. Lange & Söhne Odysseus in steel and integrated bracelet is a watch which was announced in October 2019 on the 25th anniversary of the brand. It quickly became one of the most controversial watch in the brand history and for good reasons. If you are a fan of the brand (think the iconic Datograph, Zeitwerk and Lange 1), this is definitely not the kind of watch you will expect to see from the German Manufacture.

It takes guts to enter a market flooded with so many steel sports watches including established icons from other brands. And I respect Lange for sticking to their belief to Never Stand Still and to introduce the Odysseus as the first model in their new sixth family. It’s the first Lange watch which you can truly wear anywhere including into the water.

Even today some people may not like it but then I believe no one watch from any brand is universally loved by everyone.

I personally am elated to add this charming sports watch from Germany to my collection and to have it as a companion for the unknown adventures ahead. 🌅 🍷
