1815 honey gold rattrapante

Jan 08, 2022,05:46 AM

Last night I had the opportunity and pleasure to handle this special piece, at a dinner with a good friend.

It was exceptional in all manner. While it’s a 41mm watch, it didn’t feel that big on the wrist nor was the weight uncomfortable.
It felt extremely comfortable. The pushers were not overly stiff or soft when pressed.

While I don’t have movement shots as it wasn’t a gtg as such, but a dinner with other guests, I had a glance which was breathtaking.
Hopefully I’ll have another opportunity in the future where I can nerd out a little more on it.

From the photos I've seen...

...one of the most beautiful watches today. This is a contender for 'if you only had one watch.'

It caught my eye when it was released in pictures

But in hand and on wrist it’s an amazing piece to behold. It would hold it’s own in any collection.

Absolutely ! I’ll try to get some movement shots in future for sure

I've never seen this, such a beautiful one.

I think only 100 were made

It’s a knockout piece!

Yes indeed ! And so comfortable, not top heavy like other Langes I’ve tried.

The complication the dial the movement, it has it all!

No doubt about it,

Though of all the Langes I’ve had the opportunity to handle, whether the original PLM tourbillon or double split etc etc this is the one I’d choose in a heartbeat.

This one is nothing short of spectacular!

I’m in total agreement chronometer!

Thanks 🙏🏼

How was legibility with the gold hands?

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : January 8th, 2022-17:56

No issues at all with legibility

But the mesmerizing dial made remembering to read the time… difficult

Had a chance to handle this at the boutique…

It’s a gorgeous watch, to be sure… And very special given the honey gold case and distinctive gold printing. But it was a bit disappointing to me. It’s pretty under the radar (could be good or bad, depending) — and there’s not a huge gap between it and a ...

A chrono vs a rattrapante not a huge gap?

I respectfully disagree. I also prefer the registers in this format over the chrono. But that’s just me . The gilt script over the black dial is also very pleasing. I don’t feel this piece and the 1815 chrono are competing. Different ballpark imho.

A beautiful watch

Unfortunately it wasn’t there for long. But what a treat for that short moment.

Can’t be improved upon as a color combo

Thank you for providing the photo of the movement 🙏🏼

that wire spring...

...is something that I find out of place in a movement of this category. i would like to hear about this from collectors and experts here (I am neither one nor the other, BTW).

Wow, beautiful!

It’s an absolute delight in person.

Your friend is a lucky man, this is a superlative piece!

I'm curious as to when Lange will produce a regular production model, and in which case/dial combination.

Thank you !

By: Time to watch : January 9th, 2022-09:29
That would be an exciting development.

After the opportunity to see it in the flesh,

I’m in full agreement! And with regard to the dial arrangement, I prefer it to the sunken sub dials as well.
