175 years of Precision watchmaking in Saxony

Sep 17, 2020,07:31 AM

I finally managed to make it back to the boutique in London to photograph the movements of the three anniversary pieces (the afternoon before they were heading back to Germany). All three are prototypes, but that does not in any way suggest that the watches weren't finished to the exacting standards one would expect from Lange.

In order:
- 1815 Rattrapante
- 1815 Thin
- Tourbograph

All watches are cased in honeygold and exhibit frosted bridges as opposed to striping.

Lange 1815 Rattrapante

Lange 1815 thin

Lange Tourbograph

The detail of those contrasts is lost in the press shots.

Thank you Baruch! Do you remember anything about the buckles on the 1815 Rattrapante and the Tourbograph? And did you happen to photograph those buckles?

Supposedly the Tourbograph has a quick-release deployant buckle in honey gold. That buckle never existed in honey gold until now. I want to see if it's the same as Lange's other quick-release deployants that come on the Lange 31, Terraluna, etc. It's uncl...

So I did take a look...

Tourbograph has a deployant and the 1815 has a regular tang buckle. Think I took photos of the tang only as the quick release deployant was wrapped up.

Thank you! [nt]

Here are a couple of shots of the tang.

I popped into the Boutique last Thursday and got a chance to look at the pieces. Wasn’t allowed to photograph the movement’s at the time but did get to wear the pieces and compare my favourite to another piece I love dearly. ...

Very nice comparison photos!

It's a pity that the balance cocks aren't engraved in honey gold like the last set of honey gold watches.

My pleasure. [nt]

I have an appointment to view these watches on Monday in Malaysia but unfortunately the boutique (not owned by Richemont) will only receive one ultra thin. After having contacted the London boutique (Wempe owned), the Paris boutique (owned by a Dubai reta...

Question

 By: LJC : September 18th, 2020-07:48
A quick question. Were you compelled by the boutique to buy another non limited edition regular watch to receive allocation for this limited edition piece?

Not at all!

I have never contacted or bought a watch from the Singapore Lange boutique and the service was exemplary. There was absolutely no pressure and the sales person just asked for a 30 percent deposit to secure the watch. I asked if I could pay by credit card ...
