That first photo just makes your Odysseus pop like any other I have seen to date!

Congratulations and what a cool family photo as well.

Cheers,

Alex

I’m lovin’ it...

Still lovin’ it, and no it’s not McDonalds. What’s not to like about this? There is a spec of dirt on my crystal, not defect, just a note. Just to show some side by side comparison between some famous models, but without my Nautilus 5726/1A (in the bank)....

That’s right, we never say never 😬 [nt]

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 4th, 2019-22:30

I think it’s very cool!

 By: kcinemod : December 4th, 2019-13:46
Congratulations!

Yes it's cool!

I guess Lange had to have a sports watch and this one is objectively fine. You have a great collection! 🥳 congrats

The timing is perfect for their Oct 24 25th Anniversary release...

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 4th, 2019-14:15
For a first model, I’m happy this is the result. Thank you for your kind comments 🙏🏻

Sharp looking

Do you miss a center sweep seconds on a sports model?

Thank you...Well they didn’t say this is a Sports Model...

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 4th, 2019-14:16
Where can you find definition a sports model has to have a center sweep seconds?

Thanks to iPhone 11 :) [nt]

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 4th, 2019-15:01

The Skydweller is Rolex’s most complicated watch...

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 4th, 2019-17:26
And it’s an annual calendar, travel time with ingenius design, will be very hard to let it go 😬

My first impression of this watch was kinda like a dejavu...

 By: JFT : December 4th, 2019-15:17
Turns out, the case and how the bracelet attached looks quite similar with ref 168.055 from omega around 70es... Just for a reference ...

Then I wonder why some find it awkward :)

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 4th, 2019-15:23
There are so many similarities in watch design nowadays so no surprises you’ll find something similar. Then the race is who can make it better. Thanks for the reference.

I'm sold if they made it dual tone

 By: JFT : December 4th, 2019-23:22
Just for a reference... Fun fact : this watch (in full steel) was worn in Red Sparrow movie on Joel Edgerton wrist. Imho, I think it was because it got traditional lugs unlike most of watches with integrated bracelet, and the bracelet itself doesn't blend...

This one looks more like Nautilus since it has no lugs...

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 5th, 2019-09:57
If ALS releases the Odysseus in 2-tone, all hell will break loose I think.

Well... This one predates the nautilus or RO because it was launched around 1969 if I recall

 By: JFT : December 5th, 2019-14:25
And yeah, there will be a war between the love and hate 😂

Perhaps like this?

 By: JFT : December 5th, 2019-04:52
Sorry I just used my phone to edit it... What I mean is short of like this ...

Check out the lugs...

 By: JFT : December 5th, 2019-13:50
...

Wow, so subtle I didn't even notice till side by side.... not bad at all but...

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 5th, 2019-14:06
what if there are future plans for a strap or rubber? The thick lugs will be another talking point and claws will come out as much as the original

I think it won't be a problem

 By: JFT : December 5th, 2019-14:40
More or less, it'll look like the aquatimer from iwc, I think... Because if the lugs was removed and one changed it into usual strap, it'll look less "sporty" and more like an usual classic lange, Imho, unless they planned to produce a broad strap either ...

Like this I guess?

 By: JFT : December 5th, 2019-22:37
Or this? ...

Sorry, the first picture on the last post was wrong...

 By: JFT : December 5th, 2019-23:33
I missed on covering one link. ...

The original lugs with the rubber looks better than the thick lugs...

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 6th, 2019-08:19
I also think the rubber can be flush or narrower than lugs.

Like this?

 By: JFT : December 6th, 2019-19:13
Tbh it look less sporty though the rubber might add some sportiness into it... I think ...

Thanks 🙏🏻 I know that you have it earlier from Instagram :)

From our dear friend J. Congratulations to you too.

Oh wow, that group shot is fantabulous!

 By: BABKA : December 4th, 2019-15:25
Thanks for sharing the beauty contest winners!

If only I get the Nauti and an AP into the group :)

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 4th, 2019-15:27
Too bad I don’t own any APs. You’re very welcome and Thanks for the kind words.

Wow!

Hey Alex...Thanks for the nice comments.

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 4th, 2019-16:02
I’m happy and contented now, but I will get a Nautilus in the photo again soon. Cheers 🍻

Stunning collection

 By: Onemorewatch : December 4th, 2019-18:21
As said elsewhere add a Nautilus and a Royal Oak and your journey will be complete 😂 Still waiting to see the Lange in the flesh but based on your collection photo Id still take the Daytona all day long

Thank you kindly...

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 4th, 2019-19:35
I will add my only Nautilus when I have chance but I’m very scared to go down the AP slope 😂 They have too many goodies and I don’t have the capacity to love another brand, maybe I will only bite the bullet and add the 15202 some day. The Daytona is a cro...

I’m happy and always try to get one of each, no redundancy. Thanks fernando.

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 4th, 2019-20:16
I thought about adding the SeaDweller but it’s too big for my wrist. Milgauss and Explorer doesn’t speak to me.

Awesome ALS!!! Enjoy

 By: eepicc : December 4th, 2019-21:27
Thank you for sharing the excellent comparison photo of the ALS Ody with the other watches. Really like this model as it is with the bracelet and considering as my first ALS. Cheers

You’re very welcome and I’m enjoying it a lot.

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 4th, 2019-21:39
First ALS? I heard in Singapore, you need to bundle so congrats on first 2 or more ALS 👍🏻 Hope you get yours soon.

Ok, I have finally made up my mind.... I love it

 By: ik2000 : December 5th, 2019-02:22
I knew it was always going to be difficult on the first look. Such a change. But I didn't hate it when it was released - thats always a good start! Press pics will never do it justice, so as more wristshots and real life pics emerged, it helped to form my...

Ha...I’m not planning to be an influencer, I swear :)

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 5th, 2019-09:51
Thank you for such a detailed analysis on the watch. To think about it, the current “hot” models weren’t that way 3-4 years ago and you can walk in to any AD to buy them. What’s actually changed if you ask me....nothing but the ugly, monetary “value” that...

Lovely collection!

 By: ctzn : December 5th, 2019-07:27
The Odysseus grows on me by the day.

That’s a very nice collection

 By: Jurry : December 5th, 2019-07:38
Great collection and the ALS is a nice newcomer in the “High End Steel Sports Watches” Adding the Nautilus and it’s nearly perfect. Almost perfect. Very close to perfect. Just wondering if you’ve ever considered that recently released steel Urban Jurgense...

Appreciate your kind comments Jurry...

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 5th, 2019-09:55
Yes I plan to put a Nautilus together next to see how they look. I never knew there was a new release by UJ as I’m not into independent brands yet, as well as the VC....can’t spread too much love across too many brands The VC is nice but the date window a...

I hear what your saying

 By: Jurry : December 6th, 2019-08:29
I’m not very much into independents either. Some of them, like Gronefeld, are amazing and long time I considered buying one. But what held me back was continuity risk of those small firms. I buy watches with the intent to keep them and pass them on to the...

Amazing

All of it !

Love the photos!

 By: Chromatic Fugue : December 5th, 2019-14:10
Maybe someone can explain to me why, on the big launch day, the major watch brands go with top-down, nuance-free "renderings" (really, just computer drawings) rather than actual photographs, which *always* look better ...

Thanks a lot!

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 5th, 2019-15:43
You provided a good point...maybe going forward, brands can handle new releases the way of a discussion, handling the real watch like some company doing internal CEO dialogue. Actually Anthony de Haas used to do that kind of video reviews few years ago.
