I don't necessarily think it should be finished- its just an interesting thing to discover!

Hands Finishing.

Hello! I hope everyone with their families and friends are safe and staying home to combat this wretched virus! As I am home full time now, I took this opportunity to take more photos of my watches to improve my skills and get to know them more intimately...

At that level of magnification, I don't think a little bit of imperfection is unexpected.

The applied indices look very nice and crisp as well.

Oh I see what you mean now...

The reflection shows that the underside is rough...very interesting catch!

thanks!

Ever since I’ve binged on the watchfinder videos on YouTube, I’ve become aware of this issue with some brands.

Honestly, I hold Lange to better standards (than this). Not that it’s of any impact on the watch’s functionality. Do share more close-ups of your watch collection. That’ll help cheer us through these tough times

I was also going to refer to watchfinder YT videos

Yes I do see it with many brands, including Patek Philippe. For example 09:54 on www.youtube.com . But I honestly see it too often in his videos. I would also agree that I would expect better from the likes of PP and ALS.

will do!

im not sure if this is a standard and it certainly doesn't bother me- im more interested in the movement being fully finished with no shortcuts, which I was assured is!

Double reflection?

Perhaps the dial guilloché is being reflected on the mirror-polished underside of the minute hand, and that's what's visible on the XII index?

Very plausible explanation. [nt]

I second that explanation [nt]

I enjoy your macro pictures..

Both here on instagram! Someone with a Lange moonphase compilation should be able to see the back side refelction of the hand(s) more clearly on the highly polished moon. ;-) This one says hi. ...

Thank you, friend!

whenever I look at a Lange 1 my heart skips a beat even when I have mine on my wrist! love the straps too!

Bottom side

 By: Jurry : March 24th, 2020-07:10
You mean the bottom side of the hands are not polished? That’s a little bit like: “he the backside of the moon doesn’t look neat” OMG I would file a claim against them immediately.

Cabin fever? [nt]

I can't say I've seen the back of the hands before...

I've been to the Lange factory three times. But I can't say I've seen the back of the hands before.
