For all its beauty, the movement had a flat balance spring, a lever regulator, and a lot of hardware sticking out of its balance wheel. It was never going to be a superior timekeeper.

I had a similar problem with my 1815 chronograph when I bought it.

It turned it it needed to be demagnetized.

My 1815 runs 5.1 secs fast per day

Constantly - it is the same every day....I’ve sent it in more than once to get it regulated and each time it comes back still behaving the same way. I’ve accepted it and just adjust the watch once every two weeks....have been doing it for 3 years now ;-) ... 

+/- 21 seconds/day in any position is not normal. It's way off.

I'd get it demagnetized and then get anyone with a timing machine to check it out in different positions when fully wound. I'd do that before sending it in because once you send it in, you'll be without if for several months.
