It's been a while since I last visited the ALS boutique here in HK. As usual I was warmly greeted and had a pleasurable experience there. I looked at the new Timezone in RG and also for the first time, the Walter Lange jumping seconds - both impressive in...

Saw the first picture and fell in love immidiately...

That's the boutique in Prince Building, right?

I went to the one at 1881 Heritage the other day, and the ladys there were incredibly nice. They got 5 or 6 models out for me to try, and while I was trying them on, offered to clean my 1815 Up / Down. Wonderful customer experience. Too bad that the 1815 ...

Yes it is.

Most of the staff I use to know have left. The lady who served me has only been there a few months but was previously with Panerai and prior to that Piaget. They didn't offer to clean the AP I was wearing though. Thank you Boris.

The Cabaret is gorgeous. Glad you have it back!

Thanks for the report, Fernando.

Gorgeous Darth Cabaret.

Looks like it is well rested and refreshed from that visit to the spa. Enjoy my friend.

I wonder why it's no longer in production

Wasn't it that successful? Form case with form movement is extremely rare. @Fernando Have you seen the Odysseus?

No idea, probably not as popular as round cases?

 By: fernando : July 13th, 2020-06:13
No I haven't seen the Odysseus. In short supply I suppose. They did ask if I would be interested if one came in.

Never knew

I never knew/realized that ALS had produced this type of case as well. But it’s stunning. May I ask from what year it is?

Mmmmm

The Cabaret photos make my day !

I trust the patina of the movement is gone after service?

By: COUNT DE MONET : July 13th, 2020-14:53
I have not serviced my Lange yet, but heard from the service centre at Lange that the patina would be removed during the clreaning process.

Yes Count, you are right.

 By: fernando : July 13th, 2020-19:51
The yellowish patina developed over time, especially on the base plate is removed but personally, I don't find it disturbing. It will resurface in time. The difference: Yellowish patina on the RL. The newly serviced Cabaret. ...

Germany

 By: vuillaume : July 14th, 2020-05:05
Why did it have to go back to Germany? I would think that this model could be serviced in Hong Kong. Is Mr W still servicing watches for Lange in Hong Kong?

They said the old discontinued models had to go back to Germany.

I am a bit out of touch with the staff situation. Manfred and his son David use to service watches here up to Lange 1/Datograph level. Higher complications were sent back to Germany.
