Ok, I have finally made up my mind.... I love it

I knew it was always going to be difficult on the first look. Such a change.
But I didn't hate it when it was released - thats always a good start!
Press pics will never do it justice, so as more wristshots and real life pics emerged, it helped to form my opinion.
Your shot alongside the Rolexes also puts this piece into great great context.
So what do I like/want to comment about, regarding this watch?
1. The Dial. This was the easiest to choose. For a sports watch the dial is perfect. I feel the day date combination is not strange at all, and fits in very nicely. I think it helps that ALS kept the day and date background the same colour as the dial. Had it been white, I don't think it would have been as 'cool'.
2. The right hand side base 'protusion' by the crown. Why does a watch case have to be symmetrical? Every single watch case I have seen is symmetrical. The Nautilus's 'protusions' are on both sides. Assuming one wears this watch on the left wrist, this protusion give the watch a nice new shape. It is like a leading edge, the edge that would peer under a shirt cuff. However, this all falls down if you wear a watch on the right hand wrist IMO.
3. The bracelet. I didn't like it at first, and it reminded me of the Breitling bracelets with the many linking parts. But on the wrist it looks very good. Your Rolex comparison picture actually shows a lot. I haven't been a big fan of the new Rolex look, with wider lugs, especially as seen on the hulk. I actually prefer the tapering of the ALS bracelet to all of the others. For me personally, it looks a lot lot better than a jubilee bracelet, and yet the jubilee seems to have become a cult bracelet!
ALS had to make something different, but something wearable and inherently with the ALS DNA, and I think they have hit the nail on the head here. I would also love to try out the bracelet one day, as I am sure they fit perfectly. It was never going to please everybody. But I think they did a superb job, and massive kudos to you - I can tell how big a fan of it you are, and you give the rest of us a glimpse into it!
Thanks, Imran
