Mmm tough crowd...I will reserve final judgement until I handle this.

Initially I was surprised and a little shocked to see a steel ALS Sports watch or perhaps better described as a less than a dress watch. I didn't think that was what ALS was about. Then I got to thinking about the Zeitwerk, which to me isn't a classic ALS dressy looking watch and one that aesthetically I've always struggled with, even though technically it's brilliant.
The aesthetics of this new piece will to my mind and sensibility take a bit of time to digest and I suspect in person it is significantly better than even your great images FX.
I love the idea of this watch and the complications make sense. This bracelet is always going to be a dividing aspect, especially given the market power of the Genta integrated styles so popular. I actually love the idea of interchangeability, with straps, very practical. I also happen to like the way the bracelet widens to accommodate the lugs.
Having said all of this, it will be tough for those who prefer Status Quo over change. As a business, which after all ALS is and don't for one moment think it is anything else, their immediate competitors are cleaning up in the Steel sports watch category ;-) Cynically looking at this watch, not a pretty sight in terms of big business taking precedence over purist watchmaking/historical continuance.
Anyway, it's good to see change occurring, it is the one constant in life.
Bravo FX for your studied review and we appreciate your time and efforts to bring one mans' opinion to us.
Cheers,
