which if the metal is plated, could be a delayed reaction, explaining why it wasn’t present at the time of purchase – assuming you’ve somehow simply not noticed it until now. No matter, it needs resolved whilst still within warranty. If you have no confid...

If it is corrosion as Boron stated, which looks like it to me, I would follow up with a thorough check of the movement. Never know if the source of this is also affecting the movement. /W72

Sent it in

Thanks for the replies! I’ve sent it. I was told it’ll take months to repair as they will need to send it back to Germany. They’re confirming on timelines now. Depending on the timeline, I might just hold it for another year and bring it in a month before...

Lange in Glashutte basically closes for 1 month in the summer...

... so if you do send it, (A) first make sure Glashutte will be able to fix and return it to you before their summer vacation or (B) wait until after they reopen to send it in.

Absolutely unacceptable

It does seem like corrosion as you didn’t notice it over the 1-year period. I am really surprised that it has happened to a watch in a year. Was the watch exposed to moisture/water for extended periods of time? I also have a Lange 1 which was bought five ...
