Lange Trinity Assembled. What could be the fourth?

 By: dr.ho.rology : January 16th, 2021-11:21
Hi everyone, I've managed to assemble my very own Lange trinity and am in love with each of them!! At the same time, I'm curious what you think could be a fourth to complement these if I could have room for one more? ...

zeitwerk IMHO

1815 up/down

Like so (though obviously yours should be in rose gold) ...

Looks good on you

Not shabby at all

I keep thinking that if I were to reacquire an 1815 (I've since traded away the one shown here) it'd have to be one of these older 36mm platinum models.

Likeminded, apparently.

I keep wondering why, if they could locate the subdials so as not to intrude on the hour numerals on the 36mm models, they couldn't manage it on the 39mm dial. Granted, it's a small point, but decisive for me, even despite the movement upgrades on the new...

Not decisive for me

 By: blau : January 16th, 2021-14:06
You point to a sin on the larger dial, but I think the 36mm version's dial commits two sins that the 39mm avoids. 1. The word 'gangreserve' running outside the subdial looks weird. They were right to remove it on the 39mm. 2. The chapter ring is set wayyy...

In the end, we accept the flaws that we can tolerate. I think that goes as well for watches, friends, and even partners.

First thing that came to my mind was the RG Double split.

Size could be an issue with it, but otherwise an astonishing watch. Also, it‘s more of a logical evolution for me, looking at your collection. If you‘re looking for some contrast to add, it would not be the right choice.

Here are two of them.

...

Very nice comparison shot!

Two of the best!

My suggestion: the Zeitwerk

Lovely trio you have 🤤 ...

My pleasure👍🏻

I do think so, it would make a perfect foursome, given that you like colored gold and clear dials. I'm sure that you would find the perfect strap to make the quartet even more special 😉

Things best come in threes...

I don't think you need a fourth at all!

I'd pass on the Zeitwerk if you plan on wearing it regularly...

 By: patrick_y : January 17th, 2021-10:15
The ZW as a special occasion watch is great, but as a 2-3 day a week regular watch is quite painful. It's difficult to wind, it's very thick, very heavy (especially in platinum, although still very heavy in rose gold), and the winding is so difficult that...

Thanks Patrick, sage advice!

Agreed on the Honeygold FA Lange!

Triple Split

It's the king of chronographs. Why wouldn't you want one?

Seems you like colored metals so with those 3, I would add a Zeitwerk in Honeygold or a Richard Lange Pour le Merite in RG with white enamel dial...

 By: holdemchamp1225 : January 16th, 2021-15:20
So essentially you would have the 3 modern icons from Lange, a Lange 1 (moonphase in your case), a Datograph, and a Zeitwerk. If you add a Richard Lange Pour le Merite, that would be another modern legend from Lange 😉👍

Whatever you choose... I am looking forward to your strap choice!!!!

Love your combos; I love uniquely colored gators. Who is the maker of these?

The big “z”

I think Zeitwerk could be the one!

Appreciate the tip my friend!
