I agree this piece

largely sold through the boutiques went to end users. But with the fluidity of collectors these days looking to the ever lurking next piece, more will come on the secondary market moving forward. This is a good thing I would think as it lets those of us who do not have a strong relationship with a Lange Boutique to have the opportunity of ownership albeit at a higher price.

We have a seller...not bad for a watch that was released for 8 months This seller had listed since 6/12 for “Price on Request” and it’s now found a buyer, I guessed. I like the way the brand handles the allocation for this piece, to be honest, or it will ...

Care to elaborate? [nt]

Seems to me like they are trying very hard to find the most passionate owners for the piece.

I think we are talking at cross purposes.

If I understand the OP his post was referencing that after 8 months this was the first piece to appear on the used market which would appear to support that most pieces have found good homes with passionate Lange owners - clearly this piece on Chrono is t...

Thanks Russell...

This is exactly what I meant to say, the Odysseus went to collectors which the brand intended.

I see your point. And maybe (hopefully) so but dont discount the fact that 8-month includes months of factory shutdowns, uncertainty, and delivery freeze.

I still haven't received packages from April. Most other launches were staged after reopening. Obv there is nothing more satisfying to see allocation to rightful collectors with some semblance of supply n price stability.

I susepect this was an owner sold through a dealer...

The dealer responded to my price enquiry which I respectfully declined so it’s real.

It occurs when watchmakers and brands begin talking about auctions, resale, gain, etc

If anyone can easily afford to throw several thousands, and more, in a watch, which is supposedly a passion/self reward, before and foremost than an investment, those speculations would not exist

+1! [nt]

Unfortunately with so much media attention from auctions setting record prices, people paying astronomical prices for a watch worn/owned by a famous person, this is not going to end...

Good and bad, as always two sides on a coin. Good for collectors who can pass their watches as heirlooms, wealth and assets. Bad to me, as I think there’s something not right when people willing to pay 2-3x over retail in auctions for an existing catalog ...

1 on the secondary market in 8 months is indeed a nice sign for Lange and their clients...

don't think it will stay that way unfortunately but at least Lange is doing what they think is right to keep the watch with the brand loyalists 🤷‍♂️

I totally understand eventually more will come ...

But at this rate, it’s traceable and I feel ok, unlike some other hype pieces flooding the market so fast, which I don’t think are genuine collectors getting allocations, depriving real purists. Nowadays, there are many “watch collectors”
