Visited the Lange manufacture a few years ago with this. Got told by the engraver of my watch that it was a real pain to do the balance cock because of the hardness of HG. HG has a hardness of 300 HV. She has had to replace quite a few tools because they ...

To my knowledge, not every Lange HG comes with a HG balance cock.

The balance cock of the 1815 200th Anniversary F.A. Lange Honey Gold for example is not made of HG. Best, Ian

Interesting, thanks! [nt]

Beautiful watch!

I had the privilege of owning one for a few months many years ago. Honey gold is indeed a rare metal but I found it too yellow for my liking. Just my weird tastes

Yes it does.

Still, I do like the size of the watch and look forward to Lange's next 1815 moonphase!

It can get yellower over time...

Here are comparison pics of old vs. new honey gold that were taken in 2016. The left top pic shows a honey gold tang buckle that was stored in a little plastic bag for 5 years (and turned quite dark) next to a brand new honey gold tang buckle on the right...

I thought so!

Thank you for confirming my worst fears. I am glad I sold my honey gold watch because I am personally not too keen on yellow gold or should I say yellowish gold

I asked Simone Rauchfuß, the engraver during the factory tour and she confirmed it.

She happened to be the engraver of my watch, and she recalled how painful it was to engrave it. Would be interesting if you could do a comparison as you own a HG 1815. Best, Ian
