DS is the more esthetically pleasing. The edges of the pushers are very smooth and rounded. Roman numerals, like them or not, contribute to this glorious piece. Platinum for me has a comforting feel as well as comfortable when balanced by the strap or bracelet. A touch of elegance - supreme - yes, yes.
But beauty can distract from purpose. The DS as with most chronometers including those up to an hour but  do not let the minutes jump have a limit of 30 minutes. With that in mind we can go slightly beyond - but only slightly! I am easily distracted, so that there may be confusion about timing something for an hour and twenty minutes and an hour and fourty minutes - 1:20 or 1:40? Things "thinks" like that. Of course a totaliser like a Daytona will provide this information on a minisculd dial. But two interconnected time comparisons -- I am still working on that with the Triple Split, trying to control my daily life working solo.
Which I hugely enjoy, just for normal timing operations, including not least the capacity to switch from Gold to Blue depending on the light conditions (readability).
IMPORTANT is that according to the instruction booklet the blue hands are the retropant ones and the gold hands are the chronograph ones. Otherwise it will get confusing about which buttons to push, in which sequence -- and When.
A tip is using the TS in what I call a countdown mode, where you are no longer limited to 30 minutes but to 12 hours - and more!
