A minute repeater only chimes when you ask it to. You have to give it life. This will chime automatically, indicating a passage of time. It has life of its own! I'm imagining in those busy nights at the office, you're working so hard that you forget the p... 

That's what I love about the Striking Time -- it's a push function, not a pull function. And the experience doesn't end...

I find the MR is in general more interesting because of the engineering involved. However, from a practical standpoint, the ST is better and more useful IMO (and yours it seems)...

The striking time is a very personal watch...
