As a person who also does not like the unnecesarry text on the dial, this one was indeed necessary.
It is practically there to counter balance the day of the week indication at 9 o'clock. It bothered me when the watch first came out; but when I slept over it for some time, I understand that it is not for nothing. On legibility, I agree!
@amanico, if only that one did not have a rattrapante to shoot the price up above $200k!

Maybe put the days of the week there...
...yes, there would be two kinds of information in a single sub-dial, but Patek does it all the time and it looks great. But, of course, you didn't have the choice of a custom dial : )
And the outsize date
I am a sucker for Lange's outsize date. Though the 1815 execution is beautiful, the date window is so perfectly done by Lange that it is hard to pass it up for a watch like this without it
This one doesn't give me enough of my much needed sleep.
