The other day, a friend of mine showed me his current 1815 Chrono (WG black dial), and I was captivated by its bold appearance and flyback chrono mechanism.
The price will go up from May 25th, so I’m thinking of buying a black dial WG or PG at an authorized store. I've already made up my mind because I can now reserve the Odysseus (steel bracelet).
If that happens, I’m sure I'll want a Datograph eventually. I prefer the early model without the up-down mechanism over the current model. Now, I'd like to ask for your advice. As a PP lover, I'm looking to buy two Lange watches for the first time, and I'm wondering how I should combine the current 1815 Chrono with the original Datograph.
I'd appreciate any advice from veterans out there.

...but I believe that is the one Dufour wears. I am a yellow gold fan so it's an easy choice for me.
I agree with you about the platinum Datograph, which I always regard as THE variant to have…but that’s just my bias.
But it’s worth seeing what other more experienced owners have besides the platinum.
I think you can dive straight into the dato if you find it comfortable..
I have thought abt the 1815 chrono many times but at the end, I concluded that it needs the big date to balance the 2 lowered subdials.. The thing with the Dato, it’s sits awkwardly on the wrist.. thickness wise it’s ~ the same as a 5970, but the position...

Sure! I meant the 363.179. That's the "standard" (unlimited) steel Odysseus that is self-winding and displays date/date. No chronograph. That model is called a "Datomatic,"
