Glashuette - What does it mean?

I was just wondering if the name Glashuette is something that everybody here might "understand" correctly:

"Glas" is clear, I mean there is nothing not to undertsand.

The German word "Heutte" means in English: shed, cabin, hut, cottage ...

But it can be also used as a technical term.

Than it has more the meaning as an industrial plant, as a place where heat is, a place where metal or glas is casted / produced:

And as names of towns often derive from the industry that has settled there this would mean that Glashuette in Saxony would have something to do with the early glasindustry or ,as glas was very precious in the past, with the jewellery industry.

But, for some reason, not much is mentioned about this.

This very simple word "Glashuette" on ALS watches was for me an irresistible signature for a piece of jewellery.

I had to own it as it reminded me of a fairy tale and black and white movie from the Black Forrest Area of Germany: The Heart of Stone.

There the, sad, hero is owning a "Glashuette" by having one wish fulfilled by a magic dwarf ...

My magic piece ...
