Not that type of Vicker; the hard type.
As Patrick highlighted in his post earlier this week one of the attributes of Lange’s “Honey Gold” is its higher Vickers Hardness Number than other golds.
In practice the every day benefits of that is a watch less prone to scratching and overall more durability.
For Lange owners who purchase the new Honey Gold Odysseus the real world test will be how the bracelet fairs. For me, I’m usually pretty light (easy) on my watches and so this case being super clean after years of ownership doesn’t tell me much. I have much older watches whose cases are also super clean.
Also, in terms of durability I would be remiss of me not to also mention Journe’s new watch. That case and bracket, made of Tungsten Carbide, is supposedly 1350 Vickers. (Lange’s Honey Gold is 300 Vickers or so).
Returning to my initial joke about a “proper Vickers watch”, the Joune may also be a better colour !! LOL
