Different black label versions?

Jan 12, 2021,16:37 PM

Following on from a post of mine below on Black Label editions and the possibility of changing the hands from silver to cream, I stumbled across the following images on the web:

The first two images look to be a Centigraphe with cream hands, whereas the third and fourth look to be the version with the classic silver (rhodium plated hands).

Does anyone know the story behind these cream versions? I'm very interested in the possibility of cream hands on a BL CS - think the legibility is greatly enhanced!

Many thanks for any help in advance.

MK

The cream hands do contrast nicely with the dial

We’re they lumed too?

Don’t think so - think they’re the same as the Havana hands.

I found these pictures on the internet - so so not see the watch in person.

That is correct. FPJ calls them "ivory" hands.

I personally would opt for the rhodium plated hands, sacrificing some legibility but maintaining the overall harmony of the dial.

Awesome

I believe this is a special order.

FPJ will sometimes do this for their biggest clients. The silver hands are beautiful and, according to my taste, nicer. However they can sometimes be less legible. I’m assuming this is the reason for this modification?

Thanks Christian - appreciate the insight.

Having only seen a Black label minute repeater in person (that I thought was just incredible) - I did however notice the hands were quite hard to see at certain angles. As an idea, and having the cream hands on the centigraphe, that maybe there was the po...

I’ve seen this CT in the metal

The one with white hands was custom ordered. It’s definitely more legible, but the rhodium hands looks more “correct.”

Thanks Alex 👍
