Starting the weekend with the “sporty Journe”.

Aug 01, 2020,06:48 AM

As some of you will know I decided to let my Datograph Up/Down go in order to acquire this watch.

There are few regrets, in part as I always knew the Datograph could be reacquired without much hassle if needed.

The Centigraphe has, without doubt, been a better fit for my day to day.  And this was further enforced by the situation since March where work from home has been the norm and the day to day has become more casual.

This watch was also intended to be my everyday Journe (two of my others are naturally not daily watches and a third, the CB, is but in the hotter months a bracelet I find better).  In this respect it was also the right choice.

Not every acquisition is the right one, especially when it involves letting another (significant) piece go.  Happy to say this “switcheroo” worked out.

What is the dial made of?

It’s an aluminum alloy and sapphire for the sub dials. The movement is aluminum also.

If you remember, the first iteration of this watch had an aluminum case and bracelet also (it’s a much lighter grey in colour).

A killer piece [nt]

The fact that this fists your "day-to-day" needs "better," means your "wrist to safe ratio," turns out better with this piece Dear Sire. BRAVO!!!!

Definitely true in the last several months.

I did wear the Dato a decent amount though. The one drawback with this Centigraphe is that it really is too casual if one is dressing up for the office (unlike a Submariner or equivalent, this one doesn’t work with more formal wear). But that is not happe...

Did you try this Journe with a suit on?

I am curious to see how it looks in a professional setting.

Right choice!

Had my chance at one and let it pass... regretting every time i see it. Yours looks great!

As a candidate for. Sporty Journe this is my personal preference.

I love bracelet watches. Especially in summer. Having a nice watch on the wrist is so much better than a nice watch in the , Jay!

Yes, thank you Christian.

I was thinking recently if I had not managed to acquire this one I would be seriously considering the yellow dial Automatique Réserve. Although I think the diameter is really just 2mm to far for me.

Great watch.

It looks phenomenal on you. Tough switch when in the moment I am sure but believe you have no remorse now that it is done and dusted. Enjoy!!

Thanks Keks.

Not all of these decisions come without regret, but thankfully this one is not one of those.
