More of the CB.

 By: Jay (Eire) : July 6th, 2019-00:13
My friend, who seems to know these things, says successful output of these dials is about 10 per month. That’s not changed much for many years, it’s just unfortunately (for those without one) many many more people are now in search of the CB. For the bene...

Now that the watch is a$37000 watch we should find out if you’re right.

When the CB was an available entry-level piece it probably was the one Journe many collectors may have been satisfied adding to their collection. Now it costs as much as one or two other Journes new. Will collectors who have at least some interest in the ...

Good question!

Anecdotally, I've heard folks looking a lot harder at the CS as a result of interest which was initially piqued by the CB. So, perhaps the CB's popularity is drawing in some beneficial interest for the brand. The CS and octa automatique and automatique lu...

or about that time - the CS was getting a LOT of attention by the broader community just like the Richard Lange. Those where two finest manufacture chronometers you could buy. You can find lots of old discussions on several fora froma that time with CS ve...

According to the folks at FPJ

The CS and Elegante are seeing some serious demand right now. Demand is starting to exceed supply.

I heard that as well for the Elegante

I’m so pleased to learn that it is the same for the CS. I consider it among some of FPJs finest work. A powerful piece achieved with relatively few means.

That is good to hear. [nt]

I agree the CS and the Octa are also great pieces, but at significantly higher entry point (retail pricing).

I guess the CB popularity must have some positive impact on the other watches, I just wonder what that really is in terms of of actual sales.

Cool shot - where are you?

about 10 per month is correct. However, that number has been reduced now.

True :-) [nt]

What do you think about the fact that the CB now requires an application? When I heard that, I initially thought it was distasteful to do that to customers; if you have the money, what other evaluative process could a company reasonably go through before ...

The reason you had to apply for it was because demand FAR exceeded production.

Now you can’t even put your name on a list to buy it as production has decreased so new models can be introduced.

Well, to clarify my interest, I already have one and got it years ago when I didn’t need to apply. But I think it’s an interesting contrast in how FPJ is doing things vs other brands. If you go to NYC’s diamond district, many stores have a 5711 but no one...

I dont think it is much else than prodution numbers.

 By: ChristianDK : July 8th, 2019-13:37
I think it stems from Journe making between 8-900 pieces pr year. across the entire range!! That is not going to change as long as Mr Journe is in charge - im pretty sure! I dont know why the CB suddenly got so popular. it has been in production for ten y...
