70's Cartier Santos Dumont

New watch alertwink I always loved the Santos Dumont ultra slim with Piguet movement and the older version was.. odd and not interesting. When I purchased that one I realised many great details such as oversized octagonal crown with cutted sapphire cabochon, masculine case design compared to size of the watch and that romantic feeling that this Santos Dumont comes from the old times when Cartier was something special, not global watch brand. The original vintage style deployant clasp is designed to cut the strap/made to order. Love it!

This is an excellent watch and the perfect gateway drug into the world of Cartier watchmaking. My own first Cartier piece was the kissing cousin from the same period - ultra-thin and slightly larger in diameter. Do like the octagonal crown and faceted cab...

Thank you Bill!

Here's what it looks like when carefully taken apart. Warning! Do not attempt to do it at home! It may incur a serious injury to your nervous system if you drop one of those f..ing gold screws on the floor! ...

Wow. How cool to see.

Is the glass frame screwed from the back?

Thank you, indeed!

Cartier's watch design of the 70's and 80's are the best.
