Gender

Disregarding all gender-neutral considerations that are nowadays politically “correct” etc etc, the CARTIER Ballon Bleu is a woman’s watch. You can make it bigger and put it on a man’s wrist, but it’s still a woman’s watch.

A beautiful watch, a gorgeous watch but nonetheless a woman’s watch.

Other Cartier watches are more gender neutral or pure male but the ballon blue in my view is feminine.

Fortunately that’s only my personal opinion and no insult intended to all men wearing such a watch in joy and pride.

I really like the piece, but found the models for men too feminine. I did buy the ladies’ version for my wife. As usual, Cartier does so well with its designs.

Very romantic, if one can say that about a watch.. I'd probably reserve that description to Cartier in general and the Reverso in particular.

Not too feminine for a man

I have the same ballon bleu in 36mm, but in steel not the two-tone version. It does not feel feminine at all, it's the perfect watch for travel - very discreet and light yet elegant enough with a suit. And the Cartier steel bracelet feels just perfect!
