Maybe it depends on how to handle
Oct 18, 2022,20:27 PM
Rough handling, a watch is a delicate product.
When smashing a Casio G-Shock, ok that is a very strong watch made for heavy duty.
A Hublot and any other luxury watch needs care and passion.

A fun fact...

The Hublot "magic gold" may break like ceramic. I thought it's more like solid gold in the first place. ...
Not sure how 'fun' this could be

Some of these new materials are full of (bad) surprises. I like to think of a watch as a solid piece of steel/titanium/gold whatever. Shattering a case sounds like a very bad situation to be in
I guess fun was ironic

I've always thought that the famous Hublot magic gold (or whatever it's called) was absolutely impressive, as well as their alloys, but this damage puts a serious question on the reliability and durability
Very little gold
By: openworked : October 18th, 2022-14:34
I suspect there is very little gold in their "magic gold" since 18kt gold is based on weight and not volume. Since gold is much much heavier than ceramic, the volume of gold needed to satisfy the 75% weight requirement would be relatively small compared t...
In fact

The material is boron ceramic , which is porous. The gaps are filled with gold. Noteworthy is that Hublot had to develop a special drilling/cutting technic, cause while drilling the gold would melt and flow away. Grtz, Dom

With how gigantic and bulky Hublots are

I don't think its fair to call them a delicate product. They should be able to survive the dings that their size naturally brings on them. I smash my Sub and Panerai on stuff significantly more often than my RL slim.
Ouch

That is one ding. I wonder if Hublot can repair it. I always admired the Magic Gold. It is novel, fresh and inspiring. One a side note, tantalum is pretty hard and not brittle. I once knocked a tantalum bezel against the wall really hard, and it did not s...
Curious how to resolve

I also have a magical and there is a small chip on an edge. This damage looks a lot bigger wondering if they need to replace the entire case?
Maybe

I hope not, or you can leave it as a ‘battle scar’. Looks ok to me
